SUMMARY:To Make Music with Images with Erik Malm
DESCRIPTION:Erik Malm is a contemporary visual artist working with photography as a performed translation of time\, perception\, and musical structure. His practice is rooted in a single-exposure process in which each image is constructed in real time\, without compositing or digital assembly. The camera functions not as a recording device\, but as an instrument through which movement is shaped into visual form. \n\n\n\nMalm’s work emerges from a deeply internalised relationship with music. As a trained musician and conductor\, he does not approach image-making as a reaction to external subjects\, but as a response to internal rhythmic and harmonic structures. Each photograph can be understood as a visual counterpart to an unheard composition—where tempo\, intensity\, and phrasing are translated into gesture\, light\, and spatial transformation.

SUMMARY:Competition 1 "Decay" CD 5/10/26 POY
DESCRIPTION:The theme of “Decay” is defined as follows: Images should record the deterioration of things caused by age\, neglect or exposure. \n\n\n\nFor the 2026/27 season the Open competitions (3 and 5) will be BOTH PDI AND PRINT. The THEMED competitions (1\,2 and 4) will be PDI ONLY. \n\n\n\nAs for last season\, the number of entries per competition for PDI ONLY competitions will will be 4 in total. For the Open competitions you can enter up to 3 PDIs or up to 4 PRINTS or any combination.NOTE that there are separate entry forms this year for the PDIs and PRINTs\, \n\n\n\nPlease add your entries in order of preference\, if we receive too many entries we may not show your last entered images. \n\n\n\nPlease size your entries to fit within 1600 pixels wide x 1200 pixels high. This means that a portrait image would be 1200 pixels high (the width will vary)\, a landscape image will be 1600 pixels wide (the height will vary but must not exceed 1200 pixels) and a square image will be 1200 pixels x 1200 pixels. Please do not rotate your image to fit. There is some guidance on image preparation here. \n\n\n\nFull competition rules can be found here. \n\n\n\nNOTE: If you get an error message when submitting your images it is probably caused by either \n\n\n\n> A slow internet connection so that the process times out before completing \n\n\n\n> The total size of your images is greater than the limit of 8Mb \n\n\n\nTo get around this upload fewer images at a time. Select and upload 1or2 images\, submit these and see if that works. If so click the Edit button and you can upload more images. If this doesn’t fix things email webmaster@frodsham. photos.

SUMMARY:One Day in May CD 31/08/26 Part 2
DESCRIPTION:There’s no set theme for this challenge – it’s simply a chance to show us what you captured back in May\, in one single image. Anything goes. One day\, one photo\, one story. \n\n\n\nThis is a relaxed\, non‑competitive event where we can share our images\, chat about them\, and enjoy seeing what everyone got up to. It also gives us a valuable test run of the new PhotoEntry system we’ll be using for the upcoming season’s competitions. \n\n\n\nWe’d really appreciate it if everyone could take part. The more entries we receive\, the easier it will be to iron out any software wrinkles before the big competitions arrive – and the more lively and enjoyable the evening will be. \n\n\n\nTo enter\, click the button below and log in to PhotoEntry. If you’ve forgotten your password or haven’t set one yet\, use the Forgotten Password link on the left-hand side. The closing date is 31 August. \n\n\n\nYou’ll be asked for a Title and an optional Entry Statement. That Entry Statement box is where you can add a short note about your image – especially useful if you won’t be at the meeting when the photos are shown. There’s a 500‑character limit\, so just a brief comment is perfect. Then upload your picture and you’re done. \n\n\n\nLooking forward to seeing your day in May. Good luck everyone!

This will be on FRIDAY 4th September. Bring your camera and optionally a tripod if you have one. \n\n\n\nThe venue is Wepre Park\, just over the border in Flintshire. Wepre Park is 65 hectares (160 acres) of green space\, nestled in the heart of Connah’s Quay. It is a unique setting with its various habitats and geology. Features include; Old Hall Gardens\, Brook and Waterfall\, acres of beautiful woodland walks and Ewloe Castle all for the public to explore and photograph. \n\n\n\nPlease meet up outside the cafe/visitor centre at 10:30 am. The cafe’s menu is limited so you may want to bring a packed lunch. If possible\, could you please let Tec know if you intend to attend. \n\n\n\nIf anyone wants a lift from the Frodsham area this can probably be arranged\, please let me know. If you’re driving yourself there the post code for your sat nav is CH5 4HL. \n\n\n\nTec’s mobile number is shown below should anyone needs to contact him.
