The fourth competition of the season. This is a PDI-only competition (i.e. no print section).
The theme is “Minimalist” and we have decided this season to give a steer on what is intended so that you can more easily judge whether your entries are acceptable or within scope for this theme.
For “Minimilist”, images must showcase simplicity by using a limited number of visual elements in the frame and also demonstrate a clean composition. Focus on space, form, negative space, a strong subject and subtle detail. Images should create impact through restraint, drawing attention to form, colour, or texture without distraction.
The judge for this competition is Susie Freeman.
Good luck!
First talk this evening will be by David Sutton.
In the second half Delena Harris will show pictures from her recent trip to France and talk about how she documents her travels.
First half will be Ann Gardiner. Ann invites you to join her in game of Photocharades. Guess the names of places and see where they are!
Second half Bill Griffiths & Peter Edwards will give us a look back at our exhibition at the Catalyst Museum.
Tonight we will take the opportunity to introduce you to the new competition software, Pixoroo.
We are hoping to use this for all competitions, show & tell, showcases and pechakucha evenings next season, so you need to know all about it.
Seeing in sixes has proven to be a popular event with members and we are running another one this season. Members will be asked to submit their images by March 16th. 2026
“Out of the Dark” is the presentation by Simon Caplan LRPS
