A challenging travel/mountaineering photography journey over three weeks, at high altitude, on the Baltoro Glacier in the Karakoram mountains of Northern Pakistan where 4 of the worlds 14 – 8000m peaks lie. The Karakoram mountains, however, are very distinctive while most of the world’s highest peaks are blanketed in snow and ice, the Karakoram is an exception. The mountains are vertical jagged outlines of granite spires glistening in the sun on slopes that are often too steep for snow to lie. The Baltoro Glacier is one of the worlds longest outside of the polar regions and our journey follows the glacier into the mountains. All of these aspects combine to make this a truly fascinating and photogenic region which has been visited by many of the world leading photographers including Vittoria Sello, Galen Rowell.
